Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between APY and NPS?+
Atal Pension Yojana gives a guaranteed pension of ₹1,000–₹5,000 a month from 60, for people who join between 18 and 40 and are not income-tax payers. NPS is a market-linked retirement scheme open to ages 18–70, where the pension depends on how your investments perform.
Can I invest in a mutual fund for retirement instead?+
Yes. A long-term mutual fund SIP can be part of a retirement plan and lets you withdraw anytime, but its returns are market-linked and not guaranteed.
